I took a minute to look over some of the other entries and came across your work. I thought you might want to clarify some information for those of us not familiar with the levels "primary 5 and 6": What age range does that represent?

I see by your website (www.yopcam.org) that ya'll have been active for quite some time.Good luck with your work,
Todd

I like your idea that sports should go beyond the sport itself to include:

"Advancement of Citizenship and Community Development – develop leadership skills, enterprising values and community spirit - helping to create a stronger, more vibrant and prosperous community."

That helps put sports in a central role in a community.

The "Atlanta Falcons Youth Fitness Contest: 60 Ways to Play 60" has produced many great entries and innovative ideas to address childhood obesity. I am writing to ask students, parents and teachers to add one more idea for your school - an idea that already engages youth in a healthy and self-affirming activity across America. It is an idea I am now proving on a different continent - in Tanzania and Kenya. The idea is embodied in the concept of One World, One Rope.

The goals of One World One Rope in making its Changemakers entry are two-fold: 1) to introduce a tested program for youth fitness and healthy lifestyles for the young people in Georgia, and 2) to make funds available for the work I am now doing in Tanzania and Kenya. You can see how it works in my competition entry. Please read it. Please look at the videos. And please vote for this idea if you believe it is the kind of idea that could work in your school for your students, providing a fun and healthy youth sport. Please go to:

Best of all, this is not a theoretical program -

It's a program in action. The program I am developing on the ground in East Africa can absolutely be implemented in the schools of Georgia. In fact, jump rope to fight youth obesity is now being implemented in Indiana. See:

For more information, you can visit my website here:

Please read through the idea, talk among yourselves, and vote for the idea if it meets your standards for a project that will help to achieve positive change for the students of Georgia, the U.S., and around the world:
