How does your innovation currently get kids (or how might it get kids) engaged in physical activity? How would your idea or project potentially be implemented during the school day?
Soccer 4 Hope is the leader in providing sustainable and innovative programs for the empowerment and upliftment of female youth in disadvantaged communities through soccer based education, health, and skills for life programs. Our training model, Skills 4 Life, could easily be transferred to any community or group and certainly could be implemented during the school day.

S4H currently empowers and uplifts 2000+ female youth (ages 11 – 13) within the Western Cape of South Africa, through the implementation of the Soccer and Skills 4 Life program by 30+ trained youth facilitators (ages 16 – 23). Our programs run 3 times per week, for 90 minutes each.

Mark Crandall - International Director & Founder
Mark Crandall first traveled to Africa in 1984 at age fifteen to spend a year of high school as a Rotary exchange student in Zimbabwe. He graduated from the University of Vermont 90' with a BA in sociology and attended the School of International Training in Australia. He founded Hoops 4 Hope (H4H), a 501c3 organization in 1995. Over a decade later, Mark realized the tremendous need to serve a South African, female population through soccer. Thus, in 2006, S4H was born!
