The goal of the BeFair Campaign is to expand the reach of green technology and implement meaningful economic development.

Each year BeFair works with a community that could enormously benefit from access to innovation. We listen to what community members consider their greatest challenges and then decide what can be done to help them work more efficiently to improve their livelihoods. Whether it be solar lanterns for women in India, or irrigation kits for farmers in Guatemala, our projects change lives in a sustainable, and significant way.

Reason:

This project is unique because it tackles two relevant issues trying our planet; poverty and environmental sustainability. The growth of the green economy has primarily been the domain of wealthy nations and communities, with innovation and green technology remaining inaccessible for over half the world’s population. Communities that can’t connect to innovative technologies – because they lack basic knowledge or infrastructure or simply can’t afford them – are left out and left behind, widening the economic opportunity gap within and between nations. By tackling the technology gap, we make an impact in the lives of thousands of people while contributing to long term planet sustainability.
