Power in Rural Locations

My organization just designed and built a break-through device, called the Sun Seed, which increases the amount of power output from solar panels by at leaset 35%.  This drastically brings down the cost per watt, saving thousands of dollars for rural communities.  For example, my partner just got back from installing 2 Sun Seeds at elementary schools - one in Rwanda and one in Kenya, and the Sun Seed was the cheapest option for power.  We saved these rural schools thousands of dollars!

Does anyone have a need for cheap, reliable power?  We would love to help!

We're also looking for funding / grants.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Nick -

This is a really interesting idea. Have you ever entered a Changemakers competition? Do you have a website?

I don't think that we have any competitions that are relevant for your innovation right now. But, depending on how far along you are, you may want to think about applying to be an Ashoka Fellow. You should also check out websites for organizations like Echoing Green, Social Edge, Draper Richards Foundation, Investors Circle, GoodCapital, RSF and similar organziations that support social entrepreneurs for potential funding. In addition, I added another comment about potential funding sources in the discussion about small-scale funding. You may want to check that out. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!

Great suggestions.  Would this also be relevant for Lemelson?
