Hi Omar,
Thanks so much for your entry. You mentioned that other organizations have reached out to you about your cooperative model. Do you feel that Green Workers Cooperative has been able to provide helpful support to these organizations? How do you envision your relationship to these organizations evolving once you finish developing the Co-op Academy curriculum?
Thanks!
Alexis

Alexis,
So far all we've been able to do is share our ideas and what we've done with whoever will listen. But even that is helpful. We are extremely exited at how some groups that reached out to us 1-2 years ago when they were just getting started have pushed on ahead and are launching co-op development initiatives. Two wonderful initiatives are the Evergreen Cooperatives of Cleveland, Ohio and Third Coast Workers for Cooperation in Austin, Texas. Since then we've learned quite a bit that has shaped our co-op development strategy. Since this is a relatively new field, the more written material is available to share the more effective our exchanges and learning from each other can be. This is the start of a compilation of best practices for community-based development of worker cooperatives.
