The program is designed to take properties in urban and suburban areas that have fallen into a state of blight and are bank-owned as a result of foreclosures and turn them into local natural micro-parks or, in partnership with residents or other local groups, turn them into community gardens. LCAT will assist in organizing neighborhoods for this purpose. Banks will be asked to donate property or sell it at a discount. Local contractors will be recruited to partner with LCAT to repurpose properties.
