SEDARVP GHANA is a local NGO known as Social Education Development and Rural Volunteer Program with its Headquarters located in the Northern part of Ghana.

It is a non-profit, non partisan, non religious, non racist, non sexist, training organization which aims to bring a better future to the women, street children and orphans of Ghana. Sedarvp Ghana was formed in 2006 and formally registered in 2008 under Ghana’s Register General department as a charity organization.

Sedarvp-Ghana also aims to promote high quality education in all the rural and remote communities. Moreover Sedarvp Ghana is committed to improving good health and knowledge among both rural communities and those in the more remote areas of the country.

Overall, Sedarvp Ghana aims at reducing, and eventually ending, extreme poverty.

We know the importance of fighting the underlying causes of poverty so that our work will be able to have a lasting impact on society.

Women in poor communities are also in the heart of Sedarvp Ghana’s efforts to improve their health, education and economic opportunities because experience shows that a woman's achievements yield dramatic benefits for the entire family. Furthermore, Sedarvp Ghana is committed to providing life-saving assistance during times of crisis, and subsequently to helping rebuild safer, stronger communities.

Right now SEDARVP needs 500 euros for their rent due in June 2009 and enough to buy a car to transport their volunteers to their host families and projects.

Reason:
Ghana is in West Africa, and SEDARVP works with the community in Tamale, in the northern region, one of the poorest communities in Ghana. When I see Shaibu, the Founder of SEDARVP taking a group of orphans to the beach, and see how much joy they have...when I see him helping the little children who live and sleep on the street, and share his sorrow when one of them gets hurt or injured...when I see the women being helped to start small businesses to lift their families out of poverty...when I see his compassion for those who have inadequate health care or who are living with disabilities...I feel honoured and humbled to be a part of this work. We want to see an end to extreme poverty... to see a world where all children have a safe place to sleep... where all children have the right and the ability to attend school...where all families have enough to eat...where all people can live and grow and learn and work with dignity and hope for the future...where all people experience their full human rights and where their culture, beliefs, skin colour, sex and race are of no more significance than the colour of their eyes. Equality, Hope and Dignity for all
