C.A.R.E.S. has taken on the motto, "CARES Goes Green", where we plan to educate children between the ages of 6 through 18 about nature, health, environment, and the benefits of the going green movement.
The children will work hand in hand with community volunteers, church members and Bidwell Training Center staff to develop a flower and vegetable garden that will enhance their lives and the community.

Impact
What will be the impact of your idea?
We have made a three year commitment with Bidwell Horticulture to educate and enhance this garden through community staff, children and C.A.R.E.S. youth involvement.
We also plan to build a Gazebo in memory of Amon Harris who passed away unexpectedly this year and who was part of our program. With all the violence around us, we hope to create a place of peace where people can come to meditate, to pray and reflect on life in this garden.
What will it take to launch your idea? How will you secure community support and youth participation?
We have estimated the cost of the Gazebo, fountain, mural, equipment, land preparation, planting and maintenance to cost $15,00.00.
Again we have already have partnered with the Bidwell Training Center's Horticulture Department and volunteers/students of C.A.R.E.S. to make this dream a reality.

Sustainability
We are looking for ideas from people who can make them happen. Tell us about yourself or your team.
C.A.R.E.S. Mission is to create a networking system with step by step programming to prepare each child and young adult to achieve their life plans and goals in a safe, dependable nurturing environment.
CARES promises to every child who enters its doors that they are to be met personally where they are in their diverse levels of personal, social and academic levels of development and to be given a hand to climb step by step to meet adulthood with strength and courage to be able to reach their life's plans and goals.
