Mobilising manual labour has been unique to the Pragathi Bandhu initiative. Concept of labour sharing where in members of the groups spare one day in a week to contribute labour has been made compulsory. On the labour sharing day the members work together in one members house. For the next week on the same day they work in another members lands. To develop an efficient system enabling the small farmers to bring their lands under cultivation, develop other infrastructure and increase his income. Easy access to credit for land development, access to information on new crops was needed. The initiative also aimed at bringing together the village community for developing the village infrastructure through community participation. I congratulate Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade for this novel scheme.
