What happens when you blend Ben & Jerry’s environmentally-friendly business model with Ashoka Changemakers’ dynamic platform for innovation? You get an international competition sure to delight young entrepreneurs throughout Europe.

Ben & Jerry’s: Join Our Core, the first competition launched on the new Changemakers.com, presents a sweet deal for fresh ideas making a difference in the global community. Innovators ages 18 to 34, residing in the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Ireland, and the Netherlands, are encouraged to submit their ideas for sustainable businesses that will benefit the planet, as well as communities around the world.

For more than three decades, Ben & Jerry’s has dished out not only quirky ice cream combinations, but a business practice that puts the health and wellness of the environment—and its inhabitants—at the forefront. This competition seeks to develop and support young innovators who share the dessert dreamers’ passion for social responsibility.

It’s also a great way to participate with innovators on the Changemakers platform, where forward-thinking organizations like Ben & Jerry’s build an online community around solving an important challenge like this.

Starting today, entrants can submit their super solutions for a chance to win €10,000, as well as six months of mentoring from Ashoka, a 10-day trip to Uganda to work alongside experts in social entrepreneurship, and an opportunity to receive prominent promotion on a brand new Ben & Jerry’s ice cream pint. Five entrants will be selected to receive these top prizes, plus there are plenty of extra treats for finalists and early entries.
