
Calling all changemakers! Ashoka’s Youth Venture has launched its fifth annual Staples Youth Social Entrepreneurship (YSE) Competition.
The competition, created by Staples Foundation and Ashoka, was created to recognize exceptional, innovative young people who are advancing positive change in their communities around the world. The focus of this year’s competition is technology, and how digital, online, and social connections can be leveraged to create solutions to pressing social problems.
Youth between the ages of 12 and 24 who using innovation and technology to drive change and improve improve their community are eligible to enter the competition.
Four winning teams will receive a $500 cash prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to Techonomy, an elite conference held in Tucson, Az. from November 13-15, 2011. Techonomy convenes thought leaders, innovators and changemakers from the technology sector. Winners will meet outstanding tech sector influencers and be recognized for their great work. A grand prize winner will be selected at the Techonomy conference through a public voting process.
