A+ Click website features a collection of free challenging math problems for students in grades one through twelve. The website helps students become problem solvers. The website has a graduated set of over 2000 problems, starting from the very simple to the extremely difficult. The website also includes hundreds of practical problems and brainteasers. Practice makes perfect! No fees, no ads, no registration, no calculators and no frustration.
Problem
Children need free sources for development of their logical reasoning and creative thinking. The sources must adapt to large skill range from the simplest notions to extremely difficult challenges.
Practice makes perfect! The most efficient way to develop logical reasoning and creative thinking is practicing challenging problems. Math is “an universal language” which is understandable worldwide. Most of existing math worksheets are not interesting. Math and logic challenges are spread over Internet and books. There is not a single easy accessible source with interesting problems adaptable to users existing skills.
Solution
The solution is a free collection of interesting logic and math problems based on Web 2.0 technology. All problems include an interesting idea, an illustration, and a solution. The problems include a short description and an illustration to help problem solvers visualize the model. The problems can be solved within one minute and without a calculator. The tests adapt to student ability. To progress to a higher level, you must correctly answer five consecutive questions. The tests concentrate on understanding, spatial reasoning, and problem solving, rather than math rules and theorems.
Example
The project is use of existing technologies and knowledge. Using the Internet in education is existing technology. The elements of the approach which distinguish it from existing uses are: 1) interesting, illustrated problems with answers; 2) large range of difficulty level and more than 1000 different topics to practice; 3) the content is constantly adapted based on the feedback of users. 4) No fees, no ads, no registration, no age limits, no frustration, no calculator, no time pressure, and no boring formulas.
