Create an online interactive civics program for 5-12 year old children, teaching valuable lessons about civics, citizenship and voting. The civics program will be created in Woogi World which is an existing interactive children’s educational site. Completing the lessons will earn children the right to vote in an online voting booth. The election model, lessons and candidates will be customizable by teachers ensuring a flexible model that can be used in many countries.
Children will also have access to many other free programs available in Woogi World including internet safety training, interactive multi player educational games, Smithsonian Institute videos and educational clubs.

Solution

Create an online interactive civics program for 5-12 year old children. The program will include lessons on the role of government, the importance of voting and the responsibilities of elected officials. The program will be based on the successful 2008 Woogi US KidVote presidential election which resulted in 50,000 classrooms and over 1 million children voting in the Woogi online voting booth. The new program will allow the lessons and voting booth to be customized for different government and election models.

Partner with Government, schools, NGOs and the private sector to plan and develop the program. Leverage off of the user base and virtual community within Woogi World to create a more engaging environment to learn civics.
