Non-governmental organisation aimed at promoting social dialog in the society through developing various educational, social and cultural programs.

Problem

Due to the mass culture intensification the individuality and cultural sensitivity goes to the margin. To encourage youth' social and emotional development the project promotes the cooperation of cultural and educational institutions and goes to school with new interdisciplinary program aimed at advansing empathy in education.

Solution

The nationally acknowledged art pieces [reproduction] will be brought to the school and will invite youngsters to deep in the context/emotions/meanings. The professional art is taken as the mean to provoke person to look and uncover what below the surface [to develop the skills underway]. The project invites regional schools to make the space for the gallery. Together with professional art critics as well as modern art funds, the conceptions of the exhibition will be developed / reproduced and distributed to the schools monthly. The methodology material as well as training for teachers will be organized in order to prepare teachers to works with the exhibition(s) properly. The project applies to rural/regional communities, where after the economic crises the main activity became TV program, promoting mass culture. The individuality and cultural sensitivity goes to the margin. The project invites schools to pay attention to emotional and social development of school students.

Example

The project is planning to open Modeling gallery in more then 100 Lithuania schools (in the common spaces of schools). Every month the new art exhibition will be run in Modeling gallery (-ies). The conception will be developed by professional art critics (in cooperation with proffesional cultural institutions). The artists /critics/ representatives will be invited to the schools to discuss the pieces, the issues of the interest, the different approaches to the pieces, etc. With every exhibition new methodological material is introduced to the teachers; the introduction material [with questions leading to deeper analysis of the work] is printed and distributed to the visitors [school students/local community]. The school student is promoted to share their approach in local meetings as well as on internet [after the internet instrument will be developed]. In 3-5 years perspective the project is planning to open gallery space for international art and to introduce the exhibitions from different regions [Europe, Far East, America, etc.] by raising the actual questions and promoting local community to deep in the issues of the world. The individual dialog with art piece , moderated methodologicaly, will significally contribute to the emocional and social development

Marketplace

The social and emotional development for a quite a long time is referring to the different institutions but not to the secondary school. Since the topic came to national strategic documents, the issue did not reach the school, cause they do not know how to work with it properly. Galleries are operating in this field, but they are located in the biggest towns, are operating very locally, are business oriented. The team of the project has the experience on how to work with secondary schools, knows their proflematic, key-actors, specifications, as well as has knowledge in cultural field. This is the strong side of the project . The team is ready to meet the challenges and to manage them properly.
