The idea is start a Profit & Non-Profit wing School collaborating with each other. The main cause is to run a Non-Profit School (NPSchool) for the underprivileged children ( children from orphanages, slums etc...) providing them good education quality/ as good facilities as a regular school.
The main reason for having a Profit wing (PSchool) of the school to to provide the self sustainable financial backbone for the Non-Profit school.
The implementation idea would be as follows. Instead of starting with the NPSchool and trying to build funds and resources, the idea would be to start with the Profit school (regular school ) with the required facilities. In additional to the regular activities we would have a social wing of the school which would collaborate and work to the NP school. Also all the funds raised with the current School would be directed to the NPschool.
The first step would be a smaller Primary wing school
Collaboration ideas:
Buddy Program:
Each student of the class would be associated with a corresponding buddy of NP school.
The level of involvement in the Buddy program is left to the privilege of the parents and no force or obligation would be placed.
level1 : Sharing of basic resources
1. Books: All the Books/ Most of the books from the Profit wing would be directed to the NP wing so that the NP wing school kids get educated with the same material.
2. Uniforms: Normally with children growing, harldy would the uniforms of the students be used for the future classes.
So for example, the Class 2 kids would develop buddy with Class 1 kids of NP wing
level2 : Inter participatory programs between the 2 wings ( cultural, drawing, environment ) etc.
Teacher Training/Program
1. The teachers from both the wings meet once a week to collaborate share the teaching methods/ challenges/ improvements to the program.
2. The teachers of the Profit wing school would provide monthly programs to the NP wing on the innovative methods experiences of modern schooling.
Problem
need to provide basic education with good & equal facilities to even the under provilidged/very low income groups of the society. This would help in balancing the society as we are providing an opportunity to the children of today for a better tomorrow.
Solution
Having 2 independent wings, i want to also address education with emphasis on the social background. we need to cultivate attitude along with knowledge and it cannot be done by just placing ppl together.
the economic and social gap between the two sections is so wide that just putting them together without the ground work would not help and infact may hamper the situation. Its a drastic adjustment and has to be brought about with care and plan.
so the two wings would function separately but would at the same time use some common resources. I want to set up a system of re-use of uniforms, stationary, books, etc...
Impact
In addition to trying to make quality education available to all, additionally, in the non-profit wing, i would like to provide employment to the graduates coming from this lower section of the society so that they are firstly able to earn their living and also at the same time understand the mindset of these kids. But at the same time provide strong teaching training and skill sets and may be fund their further studies so that they are as good as the teachers you find in regular schools.
Marketplace
I belong to India and currently we have many NGO's working in the field of education. We also have government policies that are trying to address this issue but in reality we have a long way to go. For ex, through the RTI act (Right to Education), it is required for all private schools to provide seats under scholarship to the under-privileged kids so that they are able to get equal opportunities and enjoy better education facilities. But this is not happening effectively as of now.
There is a need to improve & increase the number of children who are getting educated
Sustainability Plan
The profits from the profit wing would be used to sustain the Non-profit wing with less dependence on the donations
