this is a project that aim at giving the community an opportunity to utilize the resource the swamp available to them instead of destroying it by creating farms for maize crop and vegetables. the swamp has sitatunga antelops that are endangered and only found here and at saiwa swamp in kitale. if the community embrace birdwatching then they will enable the antelopes survive in the swamp and birdiwatch with tourists at a fee. im training the young in the kingwal community to embrace conservation, through birdwtching at the swamp. thecommunity once they start earning from tourism threough bird watching will eventually see conservation as the only way forward. this is an opportunity to enable the community have an alternative source of income by conserving the environment.

Reason:
the kingwal project will involve the local community in seeking to conser the swamp a home of the endangered sitatunga antelope through the introduction of bird watching that will have a direct income on the people.
