This is a fortnightly agricultural newspaper called ”Krishi Patrika’ exclusively for farmers. This aims to transfer agricultural/forestry technology, empowerment farmers with information and advocate for farmers rights. It publishes agricutural news analysis in Nepali simple language so that villagers could also understand easily. (krishipatrika.cfsites.org)
Reason:
Nepal is an agricultural country, poorest in the world, most of the Nepalese farmers' lacking access to modern facilities/marketing and input support services. Worsen situations of the farmers' rights, food security, and access to policy development are some causes of poor performance of agricultural sectors. Creating access to information for farmers is essential to transform subsistence agriculture into commercialized farming. Hence the newsletter is making a good contribution in this sphere.
