I'm very excited about the idea of destination-wide travelers' philanthropy in the Osa Peninsula. I think it really has the potential to increase the benefits of ecotourism there, and that can help act as a counterweight to the pressure to pursue conventional tourism in the area. I also like this project because it is scalable to other destinations.

Its happened time and time again. Big Resorts come in under "developers" take over a pristine location that belonged to the community. They take the beaches, the wealth, everything and give nothing back to the community that kept it pristine for generations. I'm glad someone out there is trying to change that. You have my vote!

We want to make sure we can keep Osa away from the path of overdevelopment. We want communities to develop in an organized way, hand in hand with tourism. We want tourism in Osa engage with its projects and help us develop better schools and better health infraestructure. I think that the options that this project has are endless.

As someone who has been involved with Travelers' Philanthropy on small scale projects, this seems like the next step in growing the potential of travelers funds! I'm voting!

This is a great idea! I went to the Osa Peninsula a few years ago and thought it was such an important place to keep pristine. My wife and I donated to a conservation project there because we really care about the place, but I bet a program like this would really help make a difference on a bigger scale. Good luck!

This idea when done correctly, and after reading the proposal I have no doubt it will be, can be the most powerful force of positive change in the community.

I have been working in environmental NGOs for years and this concept of Travelers' Philanthropy is a diamond in the ruff. This idea has potential to change the lives of countless communities.

This project is so important for the generations to come! To a get a chance to see like we have and can keep the jewel of Costa Rica National Parks and surrounding areas unspoiled! The idea that this project can be used all over the world outstanding!
