I've read and heard many wonderful things about the work Escuela Nueva is doing in bringing education to children that live in the barrios in Colombia and around the world. This opportunity opens a new world for them, a one that they wouldn't have discovered without Escuela Nueva's help. Thanks again for your hard work.

Having been all over South America and having seen first hand the problems, this seems to be a refreshing thought for promotion of education.

This program gives us hope for children and families that face a seemingly endless situation of homelessness and violence. I was interested to read about how Learning Circles partner with local and national agencies and thereby address social issues beyond education. What impresses me most about this program is its ability to adapt education to fit the environment of the child, not the reverse, all while achieving positive outcomes. Inspirational!

KIDS, YOUTH ARE THE FUTURE OF A NATION. I READ THERE IS NO GREAT NATIONS WITHOUT GREAT INDIVIDUALS. Young persons ought to know that there must be other ways to solve a conflict rather than killing. Respect human life must be one of the aims on value education. However, LEGAL, AND JUSTICE must be working like suisse machines. People needs to belive that someone who are an outlaw will be punished by the system. The legal systems who support democracy and values to life as peaceful as possible, even knowing that the system is not the perfect one. But Young people have to know, have to experience this and have to be expose to these life respect value to start changing their minds when they become Father or Mother again and have to teach Justice, Peace, Truth values to their kids. By then the present Colombian society will be able to start changing towards a more basic peaceful society. Education is a vital column to change but this will need more TRUE support in other social areas such Legal system and social Economic measures to enhance the living standards of the majority of the colombian people.

As far as I know this has been a great opportunity for children in displacement and is one of the few practices that attends not only to scholarship but also to emotional and social needs of these population.

The unfortunate increase of internal forced displacement in many countries around the work makes the learning circles a powerful tool to deal with the return of children to education through a smooth transition where learning combines in an examplary way cognitive and affective dimensions.

I have seen displaced children learning, playing and interacting in Escuela Nueva. As displaced people, they had lost everything (home, land, friends, school, roots and sometimes their parents or brothers). Arriving to a city was even more traumatic because the city is for peasant people a place aggressive and incomprehensible. A major city has operation logics and survival mechanisms very different to those that exist in rural life. For these reasons, displaced people - especially children- are even more traumatized by their arrival to cities. In Escuela Nueva I saw those displaced children being happy, learning quickly than urban children in traditional schools and growing their self-esteem. Escuela Nueva makes a miracle for them and with them. It makes the miracle of changing their lives. The real miracle of return to then the desire of be alive and to endow them with tools for a new life, productive and gratifying.
