Estimado Fray Xavier:

Saludos.

Summary of question (ENG): In the instances in which the festival has been organized, have important mainstream Brazilian artists participated who could have called on attention to the situation not only at a regional but also at a national level? If no, do you think to appeal to them would make the issue more or less visible?

Excuse the delay to answer… Really your are right: in other circumstances we already did appeal to national mainstream artists to give a special strength to our national mobilizations. In Brazil we have a national Movement of Artists for Human Rights (MHuD = movimento pelos humanos direitos) with a significant participation of front-line TV artists like soap opera artists. We are in close touch with them. Nevertheless for this 1st edition of our regional Festival, our main focus has been on the local , individual or community commitment. The desired impact was mainly a regional one. Even so for special moments of the Festival (like the final Show) we invited well known regional singers.
