As we live on a small island in the middle of the Pacific, we wish to protect our environment from the dredging activity of sand in the beach. The increasing construction activity in the island requires more and more sand to be used as aggregate in the concrete. We have been helping in the collection of recycling materials since 2007 and now we are the first using crashed glass bottles as aggregate in the concrete for paving our lodge and building a new walkway.

Reason:
Pacific Treelodge Resort's environmental, economic and social policies include a pledge to help recycle waste materials, conserve energy, protect the mangrove forest and monitor the health of the ocean. We encourage the consumption of local foods and local produce and promote new eco-friendly investments.
