This is a great idea, but who's going to pay for it? Rural areas are traditionally more economically depressed. It's like trying to provide medical insurance florida for everyone. It's just not feasible unless you can make it work economically.

Dear Mr Pradeep Ghosh, in your description you mention that you are bringing social security to the poor for the first time in India. I think that by this statement, you are ignoring the decades of work done by others in the field of social security - especially community health insurance. Organisations like SEWA, ACCORD, RAHA, Students Health Home have pioneered health insurance for the poor for many decades. In case you want to read about their work, please log onto www.comhealthins.org We also have an egroup called IGHPM@yahoogroups.com - if you are interested, please do join us. Wishing you all the best in your endeavour Regards- Dr. Devadasan

To implement the model effectively nation wide, who is capable of taking the initiative? We may need many Pradeep Ghoshs. How are we going to get/create them?
