I was heartened to read your vision that the young men who complete your program become agents for change by modeling positive behavior. It does seem that it's time to give kids what they need so they can develop into healthy people. I invite you to visit our competition entry, entitled "Youth at Risk: One of our Greatest Untapped Resources" (posted 11/18) and our website at www.emtah.org, as we have developed a specific strength-based arts mentoring program that could provide added value to your program. Our underlying principle is that every human being alive is doing the best he/she can do, and when applied to youth at risk, the next questions has to be "what, then, do they need that they aren't getting?" It seems to me your program trys to answer that for incarcerated youth; our program trys to answer that for kids of all ages, in all circumstances. I hope you'll take a look.
