I will be sharing this with a group of local teenagers who have experienced a negative rapport with local police. Apparently, the former mayor created a council more than 10 years ago to improve teen/police relations, and the current mayor has a Youth Advisory Council. But the word from youth on the street here is that there is still a lack of sensitivity, respect, and cultural awareness.
