There has been so much work done around the world on improving education and there are always new theories, practices and technologies that are being tried. I can't wait to be able to have a tool to help people compare their options and implement effective solutions for their schools and communities.
If you know of anything that should be covered in The Guide or related work that we should know about please leave a comment here.
Thanks,
Chris

I think that the one thing that I haven't seen is the opportunity to act as a clearinghouse for donors to sponsor projects. Not major leaguers, more like micro-sponsors who could finance the $200 or so that might be needed to purchase materials. The money is small time (perhaps) but not the management of this process or the positive effect it could have if available.
Possible or not from this site, it doesn't really matter. Knowledge is the first step, support the second. Financing is almost an after thought.
I met with students at the Harvard Grad School of Education this morning. Their reactions to the idea of the Guide were quite positive. They pointed to the lack of any place where the various approaches to basic education are presented commented on and rated. Two of the graduate students approached me to serve as volunteer interns to help launch the Guide.
This idea for a hybrid between the collaborative tools we now have on the Internet is awesome! The use of technology in positive ways like this should be fully exploited.
Approaches to learning worldwide should be experienced through the multimedia tools we know have available.
‘The Guide’ could indeed fill a gap and answer those important questions asked about the effectiveness of OLPC, training programs, approaches to learning, and more.

Go for it!

I think this idea will work.
If we dont know what should we do than how can we achive our goal. One thing is very importent that we have to think deeply before we go to action.
