How would a user navigate through the stories? Is it an interface like Flickr where you are more likely to enter through a friends email or is it meant to be more of a centralized publishing model and be used like a newspaper?

You'll be able to take the Heekya widget, a la YouTube, and share it anywhere online including via e-mail. Centralized publishing as well.
