Who wudda thunk that a Sociology Professor and a bunch of students could start something that would impact the World as greatly as has Peter Phillip's Project Censored! Living in post-Recession, pre-Depression poverty, subsisting on Social Security while watching my tiny fused glass business tank, I'd give Project Censored money if I had it. My vote is all I have to offer. You are welcome to it. Project Censored deserves all the help we can give them! gene http://earthhome.us

I was and consider my self still a part of Project Censored. I had the privilege to work along side Peter when he was a student working at the Sonoma State branch of Project Censored with me. Having read his proposal's stated here for the possibility of this News Research Affiliate Program I can tell you it's a good idea. It would be a boon for many schools and student's to have this program! More then that however I can relate my own experience with what a program like this could provide for students. I was lucky enough to work at P.C. in Sonoma during a time when the P.C. was helping the local PBS station out with a weekly public affairs program.
While reciving my degree from Sonoma State in Camunications I also recived hands on experince with a two samester internship in television production which at the PBS station. This is something that most students in an academia never receive or able to get! More then that I learnd the basics of Jurnalisem and how to chase a story. The majority of episodes we worked on being based on story's from the Project Censored books themselves. Often we had to track down the people involved with the story occasionally getting them to appear on the PBS show.
Thanks to my time served at Project Censored and the internship I learned that I had a love for film and Tv Editing. Sence I left Sonoma state I have applied, been accepted, and am about to graduate film school. Without my experience at Project Censored I probably would have never even considered film school let alone graduate school. This program can change not only the way students look at the world of Media but also the way they look at themselves. GIVE PETER THE MONEY!
