The Global Peace Games for Children and Youth (GPG) are an annual event initiated under the leadership of PLAY SOCCER, with strong support from partners such as SOS Children's Villages. It is an open invitation event, held around the world and this year, 2007, is taking place in 45 countries with thousands of participants and communities, many in SOS Villages. The annual Report on the GPG is prepared by PLAY SOCCER and posted on its website to include all registered participants. PLAY SOCCER is delighted that the GPG are having an important catalytic impact in SOS Bethlehem but does not consider it as a separate project there that can be taken out of its international context..

I really like your project, but I wonder if there are any plans to extend it, in terms of having monthly events like the Global Peace Games for example on weekends? Have you ever thought of training peer-educators during the Global Peace Games who could then help to organize monthly games and address certain problems and teach the kids during the games, eg. about peace and understanding?
we have not had any plans to extend the games at this point but would not be opposed to the idea. It seems that it might be a hard thing to arrange year round because of time constraints but it could be a more organized and regular summer program. Do you have experience with such a program? If so please pass along any appropriate information. Thanks.
