Dream a Dream has joined forces well with The Adventurers--A Wilderness School, Vishal, to provide children with a very simple and yet so effective wilderness experience. I'm impressed most of all by two tasks which you've accomplished. You seem able to vary the natural setting so dramatically for each camp, and I'm sure that this makes the experience even more appealing for campers who make return visits. Even more so, you provide this natural-environment camping experience for children who would never have the pleasure of receiving it if not for your group.

I didn't know what coracling was until i came to India! - and now i know - getting into a contraption made of bamboo and tarpaulin!! What great fun!
The camps are a great way to get back to basics, to sleep under the stars and feel the earth beneath your feet. You can watch as the children literally grow and develop over the four days in front of your eyes. They start as slightly unsure but excited and end up confident, vibrant and ready to stay another week! And who can blame them?! This goes for the volunteers too! They rave about the camps, and are eager to return to the wilderness, to support the children and impact on their lives.
500 more children to include in the camps in the next year - what a fantastic goal to have, and one that will almost certainly be achieved!
The Dream Adventure camp was an outstanding experience for me. Not only did it give children and volunteers a chance to escape the polluted city air for a few days, but it created a hub of excitement and adventure that everyone could revel in. The children's happiness and wonder as we drove to our campsite in the back of a truck was enough to create a smile on my face. The surrounding hills and forest were breath taking. Everything was an adventure for the children, from learning how to cook in the wilderness to climbing a mountain and fighting off monkeys that would try and steal our food. They loved every second of it. The adventure camps present a challenge for the children, which they meet with motivation and determination, whether it be their first or fourth camp. The skills they learn on the camps will stay with them for life and what is more valuable then a group of six to nine year olds, who barely knew each other 24 hours ago, helping each other up a mountain and holding hands with new found friends. It is delightful to see. No matter whether you are six or twenty six, the Dream Adventure camps give you memories that will make you smile for the rest of your life.
