In my estimate, Peter, you, Delores Barr Weaver, and the Foundation have taken the right approach in combatting unwanted pregnancies and sexually-transmitted diseases through Straight Talk. I'm certainly no expert in sociology, psychology, or education, but I believe that your program offers a genuine service in terms of sexual education to the young people in your neighboring five counties.

Professional sports in the US--particularly the NFL--have come in for their fair share of criticism for the enormous monies that teams make with so little of it returned to fans and their communities. However, the outreach of the Jackson Jaguars Foundation as you've described it here strikes me as a very appropriate way for a franchise to be a good corporate citizen of the city and county of which it is a part.

Thank you for your feedback Steve. One thing that immediately impressed me about this organization and the owners was that unlike most team and athlete foundations, the Jaguars Foundation does not do fundraising to support its programs. Thus, we are not competing with the very agencies we are trying to support. With direct support from the team's revenue as well as corporate sponsorships, we are able to fund our programs and allow our staff to actually do grant making and program work instead of spending their time planning fundraising events. Again, this is very different from most teams.
