What is the primary problem your venture is trying to address and how are you addressing it (or planning to address it)?
The primary problem that we face is that of training young people. Indeed in today’s Congolese society, there are far fewer educated young people than there are children who roam the streets, rejected by their families, or who rot in indescribable misery as their parents watch on, powerless to help. This phenomenon which should seem worrying, is in fact seen as normal by the Congolese, moreover they have made a point of naming them: Shegué, sparrows.
Unfortunately these children have no foundations and can easily fall into the traps of certain wrongdoers who exploit them. If presently they only commit petty theft, the worst is to be feared for their futures, as these children are really a time bomb for the Congo of tomorrow as some amongst them will become gangsters and all sorts of criminals. In order for them to avoid this unhappy fate, we must look after them conscientiously, guaranteeing them a place in tomorrow’s society, which in turn needs their service.

The Educated Childhood Association helps abandoned children to regain the human dignity that has been snatched from them.
Unique and different
The association seeks out the street children, that is to say we go down into the street to search for those who have made it their home, rather than waiting for them to be brought to us. We teach them to read and to write and then, in accordance with their aptitudes, they are directed into a job apprenticeship of their choice for the less able, and the more able will be introduced into schools that will accept such a partnership, until such a time when the association itself will have a large school and different social and professional training workshops for educating these children. The goal of this association is to build a large national training structure for all underprivileged children. In this association a child will not just receive a scrap of bread to temporarily relieve his hunger, instead he will be completely looked after until he can spread his wings and become independent thanks to a stable job.

Impact
Impact
The expected impact will have a greatly positive effect on Congolese society. As we have already mentioned, as long as children remain without training they are a threat to the development of the country, as in them a devastating criminality can take seed. It is necessary that in 20 years time, every Congolese knows how to read and write and can thus contribute to the rebuilding of the country, as in 20 years these children will be adults.
Effectiveness
At present this project has yet to serve anyone. However, we are training six children who live with their parents but do not go to school. We are teaching these children to read and to write, the results of this are greatly positive.

The project is not yet running, therefore I cannot measure the results.
Obstacles
We are faced with the problem of getting signatures from the proper authorities who want to be paid first; we lack the financial means to set this fledgling project on its feet. All the same, it is not at all easy to convince a child who is used to doing nothing to sit down for nearly 4 hours to learn to read and write. For this reason we have to firstly offer them something to eat before having our little street school. However, the lack of teaching materials is the worst problem.

The Story
Motivation
The only great motivation which drives me is the pain I feel when I see these children stagnating in a dark misery and that above all, some people take advantage of this misery as a resource in their quest for power.

j'ai participé à un concours dans lequel il fallait choisir de commenter sur écrit avec des photos à l'appui un problème que connait notre pays. comme ce projet me tenait à cœur, j'avais proposé un texte qui parle des enfants et de leur misère. alors j'ai reçu mail de la part de suria lyold me proposant de faire partie de ce club
