This is such a great idea! It's wonderful how you're throwing birthday parties for these kids. My best friend was homeless for a really long time, and it is true, homeless kids get almost no individual attention. If you're ever looking to expand your venture to Atlanta, let me know and I'll be more than willing to help out in every way that I can.

Folake, I am touched and heartened by your important idea, and your commitment to make it happen. We all need to feel like we are visible and noticed by others; by focusing on underprivileged children and making sure they have at least one day where they are special and the center of attention, you are providing an invaluable service. Good luck and thank you.
This is a very creative idea and we applaud your goal of helping kids feel better about themselves! We also commend your ambition in undertaking this project. However, we are concerned that having a big generic party will have a limited impact. It may feel impersonal for the young people involved. We encourage you to develop a strategy that also involves ways to celebrate these children on an individual level so they each feel truly special. You are off to a great start ? with continued focus and a more individualized strategy, you are sure to put a smile on many young faces!
I just read that you are among the 27 extraordinary young people recognized by Nestle in America. I saw it on the Nigerian Times International Forum! We Nigerians, are proud of you! Cheers and God bless.
