Discussion By Your Side

This is discussion about New entry. This is discussion about By Your Side.

I am becoming increasingly aware that to allow for travel we need to encourage and advocate for people from developing nations to be able to obtain the necessary visas for freedom of movement. It appears to be so one sided. Money and access isn't the only delemma but freedom to visit some countries is certainly an obstacle to overcome. I can't help but think that if people from developing nations, such as Uganda, could travel, exchange and partner, the beautiful people there could learn more from an outside experience and bring those sustainable development scenarios back to their own country.

As a person that lives outside of the US, I feel today's technology enables people to partner easier than ever, and that by uniting willing travelers in this format, we will incubate education and understanding of diversity. I also believe that the key to our world's problems lie in education, therefore, I see a major need for programs that provide incentives for people to engage one-another outside of the traditional exchange programs or 'for hire' situations.

This concept could be a great solution.

Traveling to & from Alaska through Canada: side by side with a willing traveler, we were able to meet other travelers along the way, with great information about places we may not have experienced, if not for networking. At the time our internet was a 'health food store'. If the 'community market' can create (stock) incentives (nutrition) for travelers to meet & greet over 'tastes', it seems that travel providers could also do something similar to cater to the 'travel tastes' of woud be travelers, hesitant to travel beyond traditional perceptions.

"By Your Side, is a solution to the non 24-hour community market, before it comes anyway".

Yes, thank you for the dialogue.   I envision a travel social network where the meet and greet is a springboard for travel partners to enhance the experiences and travel education of those they travel with.  Travel Partners learn from each other.  While NGOs and other organizations do much good, traveling By Your Side takes the one sidedness out of our current attemts to take 'developed' ideas to a specific place.  Not only do we form relationships and shared experience but someone formerly not able to travel gets 'matched' with someone willing to share the globe, educating both culturally.  It is in the shared experience that growth happens, converstation ensues, ideas are exchanged. The travel community is a catalyst for sustained gobal interaction.  We use technology to meet and experience, not just virtually but actually.

Thanks so much for your comment Jeremy.  I think it is a good idea. obviously.  Don't you think that it is important to take people out of their present environment and show them the world, rather than always going into their environment to show them???  I really appreciate your input. I love your comment aobut getting to know the other person. Yes, friendships develope, the world 'shrinks', understanding happens....
