This is the PREMIER destination in Haiti already with two high end hotels. The Caribbean Sailing Regatta set out from here last week. Although I have not yet been there, it really does have great international appeal. Patrick Lucien has been working there for at least 4 years with a project to build a the local school through his Edem2.org project.

Il a Vache is about the size of Manhattan. It was first populated by freed slaves sent down from the US. It has no roads - and with the development ideas that this group has could become a real "changemaker" destination.

Both the landscape and the people make this place a truly unique destination. A remaining piece of what used to be described as La Perle des Antilles (the Pearl of the Caribbean) or "une émeraude tombée des cieux" (an emarald fallen from the sky...)

The sustainable development model and the eco friendly tourism frameworks promoted by Jean Patrick Lucien have the potential to foster an harmonious development of Ile-à-Vache.

Discretly quoting Baudelaire:
"Là, tout n'est qu'ordre et beauté
Luxe, calme et volupté..." (L'invitation au voyage)
