Ambassador Program - The Miracle Foundation
Location
Individuals and groups (students, friends and families, etc.) travel to India to help around 3 childrens homes/orphanages, and to PLAY, PLAY, PLAY with the children. Volunteers assist house mothers with tidying up, serving meals, delivering mail from the childrens sponsors, photograhing the children for sponsors (or potential sponsors), playing games, and just plain playing!.
The volunteer returns home an ambassador for The Miracle Foundation. Everyone benefits.
The Miracle Foundation advocates the United Nations Childrens' Bill of Rights, which include a daily hot, nutritious meal,a warm bed, nurturing environment, and education. The volunteers contribute to the well-being of the children and in return the humbled volunteers are presented with life enriching opportunities -namely, the opportunity to experience a sense of Community half way around the world, And the house mothers/teachers get small respites from their 24/7 hard-working lives.
I became an ambassador for the Miracle Foundation, along with my 13 year old daughter. We can't say enough positive things about the program. We thought we were just going over to pitch in. We never imagined we would gain so much. I returned with a heightened awareness of childrens rights - not just the kids in my own affluent country, but globally as well
