World Heritage Sites do not exist in isolation - creating a local infrastructure with local skills and using local materials will ensure that the indeginous community is key to the ongoing preservation of the site. World Heritage Sites will draw in funding and visitors which is good for local people - effectively it will support them supporting it

What makes your idea innovative? How is it a sustainable, green technology? (150 words max)
Where there are buildings and constructions involved the idea returns to the principals that the original and largely greener methods used to build them in the first place can be reapplied in their conservation. Yes the work may take longer it may even take more people. But the workforce will be local and the areas economy will be suported at the same time. Plus the skills will be there and ongoing into the future, once they have been established - nothing quite like a local expert.
What would it require to launch or spread your idea? How much would it cost to make your idea a reality? (150 words max)
It would need the site custodians to work with their community to help them understand about the symbiosis of site and local people.
It would need a willingness not to turn to the steel gurder to shaw things up or the power tools to get the job done faster. But to seek out the local skills that may have originally helped to put a building there and the materials that would have been used originally.
Effectivly it would need the approach of less and not more.
