Our Global heritage must retain its Genetic heritage.

Because of constant encroachment of heritage sites by humans, the shrinking of the number of specie members, will eventually lead to fauna species suffering altering side effects from genetic drift/inbreeding. A stable fauna population ripe in genetic diversity must exist in and around the site.

Name Your Project

Our Global heritage must retain its Genetic heritage.

What is the likely impact of your idea? How will it help ensure that World Heritage sites are preserved? (150 words max)

To solve this I suggest that Human inhabited areas around the heritage site incorporate the local plant life into their urban and rural areas. Not all locations need to be ideal for any plant, so long as these plants are able to reach their reproductive age and disseminate their reproductive materials. The ever-increased numbers of reproductively able plants will increase the genetic diversity and lessen any effects that genetic drift might play.
For animals the only suitable suggestion would be to encourage a migration program, whereas some animals are moved or provided assistance in moving from one heritage site to a similar (ecosystem wise) one. This would increase genetic diversity among the animal life and limit problems that inbreeding has already caused in many species.

Describe Your Idea

Because of constant encroachment of heritage sites by humans, the shrinking of the number of specie members, will eventually lead to fauna species suffering altering side effects from genetic drift/inbreeding. A stable fauna population ripe in genetic diversity must exist in and around the site.

What makes your idea innovative? How is it a sustainable, green technology? (150 words max)

This project is completely about helping the fauna remain sustainable. A small population with no room to expand will always suffer the side effects of genetic drift caused by inbreeding.

Ideally, the expansion of heritage plant life into the local areas and the knowledge that healthy animals live in and around the heritage sites would encourage local and regional inhabitants to Visit and participate in heritage site programs. Thus encouraging the upkeep of these sites.

What would it require to launch or spread your idea? How much would it cost to make your idea a reality? (150 words max)

Local communities would need to provided volunteer or paid labor, and be willing to locate local plants into their neighborhoods. Additionally heritage sites would need to communicate with each other in order to enable animal species to migrate.
