In February, 2008, the radio programme produced by us titled "eyeway, yea hai roshni ka karwan" won the Radio Duniya award in the catagory best radio programme with a social relevance.

This programme is broadcast from 30 cities of India. The content of the programme is informative, inspirational and empowering. The programme can also be heard on our website http://www.eyeway.org

I have been also associated with Eye way in one or the other way for past few years. Some times extending an expert advise on emails and some times participating in the Radio Programme. The moment there is some question thrown at the help desk, the resourceful staff immediately flungs in to action to find answers by contacting nearest resource, in case they do not have the ready answer.

I strongly recommend this initiative for Ashoka Changemaker award for this is a unique initiative reaching out to rural areas and several unreached and underserved areas where NGOs and GOs have not been able to make any impact. I have personally known such instances where people from very remote unserved areas call up for information after hearing the programme. Thus this program not only benefits the visually impaired users but also their family members by providing much needed information to them about their rights and facilities.

warm regards

I have been associated with eyeway since it began, and I have known the dynamic George Abraham much longer. I strongly recommend this initiative for the Changemaker award, because it provides critical one stop shop information for people with vision impairments and people who care for them.

I support project Eyeway of Score Foundation for Ashoka Changemakers Competition.
I was a regular part of this revolutionary effort of Eyeway.

I have seen Eyeway influencing lives of individuals, who are not only living
in remote areas but also who are well connected with all the resources.
Still many of them are ignorant about their basic rights as visually
impaired. Information to these rights had not only widen up there knowledge
but also inject a spirit to fight with all the challenges of life as a
visually impaired.

Definately one of the better projects, eyecare technology and treatment has been improving, I recently came across an article from an australian university showing how they restored sight of blind person through stem cells, the damaged cornea (either through accident or desease) was capable of restoring/healing itself, best of all the treatment is not expensive at all. This might help a lot of people in the future.

Yes, we do provide a huge amount of information on the domain of blindness. Eyeway however has been established for those persons who are living life with blindness and low vision.

We believe that the real problem is with people's thinking and not with the blindness. We also believe that knowledge has the power to alter the situation.
