Describe the primary problem(s) that your project is addressing.
The primary problems the project is addressing is to rise the level of education in Sumbawanga District nd Rukwa region in General. The litaracy level in the area is a threat. Literacy is the ability to read and write with an understanding of a short simple statement on everyday life. According to population and housing census of 2002, there are 908,670 total number of population in five year and above age group in Rukwa Region, out of whom 479,440 or 53 % were literate. Among literates, 55 percent were males and 45 per cent females. The level of literacy in the region was higher among males than among females. This high level of illiteracy has also contributed to low development of the region. Moreover those children whose parents have been affected by HIV/AIDS will be given support by the project such as providing school fees for their secondary education.
Describe the steps that your organization is taking to make your project successful.
a) The project has taken various steps in order to be successful. The Tuition Centre called ST.KAGWA TUITION CENTRE was established in 2004 with 123 students, where by 80 students joined grade IIIA studies as the region has one teachers college namely Sumbawanga Teachers College that produce teachers with grade IIIA and certificates in Domestic Science. 30 students joined A - level studies and 08 joined Universities. The Tuition Centre provides Services to both O - level and A- level studies.
b) The second step is building our own clssrooms since we have already got enough land where the classrooms can be constructed. We have the area but we need a business partner to invest in education since the buldings used now have been hired. Any person interested in this can communicate with us and visit the place and see the situation. Meal and Accomodation will be up on us. Welcome in Tanzania
Impact

Increased number of Students joining the Tuition Centre from 220 currently to 250 at the end of this year as well as the level of passing and joining higher learning.
Success in Year 2:
To have started the process of building a school as both socio - economic activities and service provision. The area is ready and we have all ownership documents. A business partner is needed.

What are the three most important actions needed to grow your initiative or organization? STEP 1:

What are the three most important actions needed to grow your initiative or organization? STEP 3:
The school will start providing education to the community as it is doing now but with better environments and facilities for good success. The ministry for education will register it as quick as possible as it supports such initiatives
Describe the expected results of these actions.
Increased level of education and reduced the problem of shortage of schools in the Region. with this illiteracy level will be reduced and development will be achieved. Also the school will provide employment to teachers, watch men, secreaties as typists and other stakeholders.
What was the defining moment that led you to this innovation?
After population and housing census of 2002 report of Tanzania, the level of education was defined to worse as a result we decided to make an intervention. The report explains that The region has 75 secondary schools. Only 21 of these schools have hostels, many of them being below standards. Many students walk long distances of up to 9 kms daily to secondary schools. There is therefore a high demand for boarding/hostel facilities and other schools too.
