I like the idea of increasing efficiency by standardizing reporting and increasing access by providing the results via the internet. However, I worry that many parents will not have access to the internet to see their children's results? How would you address this?
Display of results on the internet is one of the options for parents who can access the internet. Most Ugandans access the internet through public internet cafes at a very low cost and i beleive this will be their first platform, there by logging on to the school's website. The second will involve posting of results to a parent's phone directly via sms service which will be embeded in the software package, but this will come at a later date when the company is fully operational and the software packages are fully completed. Parents who cannot access the internet will have to collect or wait for the hardcopy of the termly report the school provides which will be brought home by the student.Remember all copies of academic results are kept on soft copies and in case the parent cant access the internet or make it to the school when the school term is closing, he/she can access this digital copy by visiting the school anytime.
