This is a good innovation. People with disabilities have been marginalised for a long time. I think its the right time we addressed issues relating to this marginalised group especially in Uganda. Lets work together for the promotion of equal opportunities and fight the evil of discrimination especially in the education sector.

Boaz-

This is a very powerful idea. Like you, I have done research on the challenges faced by people with disabilities in Africa. You have a keen understanding of this problem. However, it is less clear how you and your organization would specificially address the problem. This is especially true in the section where you write about the three steps that you would take next. I think that you could add more information so that we could better understand what you and your team would do.

In general, I would also encourage you to start small. Consider running a pilot in one rural community so that you can determine the specific steps that are needed to successfully engage PWDs in formal education within that community. Once you have identified these key steps, you can then focus on spreading the word and replicating these steps in other communities.

Thanks!

consensus is now growing that civic competent citizens are the drivers of reform in society. I think you are taking the same trends by encouranging community to fully intergrate people with disabilities in the education system. I am also interested in addressing issues of marginalised groups like PWDs in Africa. We can try to see how we can work together to make this dream a reality. Other wise, do not backslide in that struggle.

Thank you for that insightiful idea. For quite a long time especially in Africa people with disabilities have been regarded as a curse in society and this has in most cases determined their fate. They are always discriminated and a few get a chance to go to school. For PWDs educations is the only key to a good life. This there fore shows the significance of respecting and upholding the right to education of PWDs.

We should work together to front this noble cause because various international and domestic legal instruments emphasise the equality and non discrimination principles. There is dire need to address isssues of PWDs to correct the misconceptions that have killed opportunities for this group that has been marginalised for centuries in Africa and Uganda in particular.

Otherwise, i think this a good idea worth supporting. This is the kind of creative thinking that we need, if we are to liberate our sisters and brothers with disabilities.  If people with disabilities are to be liberated, education should be used as a lauching pad.

God bless you and keep thinking of other ideas to liberate PWDs.
