Idea (you're poised to launch)
How long has your solution been in operation?
Still in idea phase, but looking to launch soon
The Need: What problem are you trying to solve?
The need is to inculcate RDCM Model:
Relax: Relax and enjoy life.Take things lightly and in a manner that this is just a phase (good or bad),which will pass. Nothing– Love, Hatred, Position, Money or Fame - is above life.
Desire: One can desire for big things, but one may not choose the wrong way. Over excitement should be controlled – over shout and over pout is not advisable.
Considerate: One should respect the existence of this universe; and others’. Others may have their own tastes, desires, likings and personality and have equal right to share this universe,as we have. If we do not get along well with someone we can step back while saying that they have their own world.
Modest: Feeling of superiority over others or thinking others being inferior is not acceptable.
The Solution: What is your solution? Be specific!
Add the subject in the curriculum under classroom teaching. There will be defined syllabus books. As in India we have CBSE to define syllabus, Empathy should be one of the subject.
The text books shall be their till 10th Standard and should be written by intellectuals who have exemplary track record in this arena.
Syllabus may include:
o Books containing real –life stories as well as fiction
o Workshops material
o Projects
o Short movies covering 4 topics of RDCM based on age group of students. These movies should be shown once in a month and a CD is provided to each child to watch with their parents. A short questionnaire will be provided for kids and parents to answer together and submit in the school to understand the values one particular kid and his parents display.
We all as parents learn while teaching our kids. Adding ‘Empathy’ as a syllabus will help parents to learn which they have missed during their school time.
Role plays competitions for students.
The Model: Walk us through a specific example of how your solution makes a difference; include your primary activities
Think why we remember rhymes or alphabets or other basic stuff taught to us during kindergarten? The reason is it is infused in the soft minds of kids numerous times. If you do not tell a child to throw litter in litter box, they will never learn it.
Same way if we want them to become champions of real world problem solvers and want them to understand community diversity; they should be guided since their first step in the school.
Telling a child to share, feel equal (not superior or inferior), take things as they come to them, respect others' existence, think about in-convenience caused to others due to their inappropriate action, be considerate and modest from the day they enter the school. Repeating this again and again in a structured format as a part of the curriculum and asking them to create stories or present role plays will evolve them with empathetic maturity.
There may be arguments against putting more pressure on students while introducing another subject. The argument cannot stand as we will be introducing ‘Empathy’ as a subject to make children feel burden less of any pressure.
The Marketplace: Who are your peers and competitors? Identify others also working to address the needs you are and what differentiates you from them. What challenges could these players pose to your success or growth?
The market place is entire world and not just one country. This syllabus shall be written by intellects from different countries contributing towards 'empathy' and making it an international subject. I would be providing an outline for syllabus books, which can be fine tuned to the local needs of each country and will be finalized by educationists and intellects.
Educational Regulators' across world like CBSE in India shall be requested to add "Empathy' as a subject. If we make it an international subject with standardized books across countries, no regulator will say no to its implementation.
Now that you have thought out your entry, help us pitch it.
Define your company, program, service, or product in 1-2 short sentences [136 characters]
I am a parent of a 5 year old child, and want every child on this earth to learn Empathy since beginning to evolve as a good human being.
Identify what is innovative about your solution in 1-2 short sentences [136 characters]
Innovation here is infusion of 'Empathy' as a subject in the school curriculum; getting it international recognition and implementation.
Social Impact
This Entry is about (Issues)
What has been the impact of your solution to date?
Not Applicable since it is at idea stage.
What is your projected impact over the next 1-3 years?
The project will have impact both on parents and children.
-At the time of introduction of the subject empathy, it will spread awareness that there is something called 'Empathy'.
-In the first year project will make people aware of the definition of empathy and its impact.
-The second year will see some practical implementation by addressing bullying or aggressive behavior.
-From third year it will promote community diversity and a respect for differences while encouraging social and emotional development.
In the long run it will definitely help children in addressing problems from a new perspective and coming out as a winner from a situation. The project will help children and parents as well in understanding others' perspectives and needs.

Founding Story: We want to hear about your "Aha!" moment. Share the story of where and when the founder(s) saw this solution's potential to change the world [125 words]
To drop my child for school van, when I stepped in the elevator, it was full of litter all around, my child asked why few people do so when others do not like it. He advised me that his van attendant also spit on the road, why?
I got no answer but stated these people may not have gone to school to understand the impact of their action on others and the society at large. That is why we send our child to school to empathize with situation and people. He was content with my answer.
After dropping him while driving to my work place I focused on people driving around me a bit more than usual. The first question came to my mind was: are these people considerate while driving? They indeed went to school.
I realized that 'Empathy' have to be infused in us since child hood. We all lack in it and from nowhere we have learnt our lessons on Empathy. Then why not start from school in order to built it in our culture and inculcate it in our behavior.
