The Need: What problem are you trying to solve?
Every year we lose considerable time in setting up teaching and training meetings.
The children's parents (Peul and Bassari) mutually refuse to take responsibility for renovating the temporary shelters. The latter are justified because these shelters are not safe and are rife with problems, people often cohabit with snakes. We want to succeed in bringing the Bassari and Peul together to get them to overcome their cultural differences and work together to provide solutions to the problems of the village like the construction of school classrooms.
The Solution: What is your solution? Be specific!
Instruct students in means, such as surveys of lifestyles through photos and videos including food, clothing, housing, and culture, to make their parents, Bassari and Peul, understand that their differences can provide the solutions to the problems of the village, particularly through the construction of a village school.
The Model: Walk us through a specific example of how your solution makes a difference; include your primary activities
Organizing students to pursue surveys of the lifestyles of the Bassari and Peul, including food, clothing, housing, and culture.
Taking photos and videos. Organizing private film screenings and photo exhibits of student surveys with students who will try to propose solutions to the problems mentioned, particularly the construction of the school, using the techniques employed by the Fulani and Bassari to build their homes. Explaining the solutions proposed by students in the village public square, include film screenings.
Starting up construction, then opening new classrooms.
The organization of cultural activities within the school: students will draw on the results of surveys to put on performances including parades with traditional costumes and present dishes from Bassari and Peul recipes.
The organization of presentations on the themes or sub-themes dealt with in surveys.
Cultural activities in the school and village.

Our peers are school teachers from surrounding villages who do know that this initiative will not compete with state resources needed to build classrooms in other villages. The NGOs involved in education will criticize our strategies because they are innovative. The one difference is that the fact that the ideas come from students themselves.

Sustainability
Tell us about your partnerships
We are in partnership with the Association for Creative Writing among Youth (ACLJ) of Quebec. Our students write texts on various events from Wakilaré and ACLJ, putting them on paper and broadcasting around the world.
What type of team (staff, volunteers, etc.) will ensure that you achieve the growth milestones identified in the Social Impact section? [75 words]
Besides the support of the superintendents and two school teachers, we have enlisted three (3) other volunteers for the smooth functioning of the activities planned.
Inspectors will be there to make suggestions to help us achieve our goals efficiently.
