California Poets in the Schools encourages students K-12 to celebrate their own creativity, intuition and intellectual skills through the creative poetry writing process. Trained, multicultural poet-teachers lead workshops in public and private schools, juvenile hall, after-school programs, hospitals, museums, multilingual sites and other community settings. Students explore creative problem-solving skills while practicing the craft of poetry. Youth learn the power of words as a vehicle for self expression and to imagine the future.
