Senior Technology Analyst
Changemakers is continually evolving its lineup of innovation-sourcing products, and developing new products. The successful candidate firmly believes in the power of technology to help build collaborative communities of problem-solvers and to help find and develop the world-changing innovations created by these communities. The Changemakers Tech Team is looking for a team member who possess solid technology skills, but also creativity, passion, and demonstrated commitment to positive social change and social entrepreneurship. This individual will be responsible for managing platform development, translating business process to technology development (and vice-verse), client interactions, product innovation and design, and similar tasks.
A background in project management and open source technologies such as Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP and the Drupal CMS are valuable. Proficiency in English and one or more non-English languages would be a plus.

Technology Analyst
The Technology Analyst is a member of the Changemakers technology team, which operates in a fun, fast-paced and stimulating environment. This position plays an integral part within the larger Changemakers team, providing technology and website support for the Changemakers.com site and staff, with tasks including:
- Website administration
- Content preparation and posting (images and text)
- Site metrics analysis and reporting
- Search engine optimization
- Technology research, analysis and strategy
- Product design and development support

The Technology Analyst firmly believes in the power of technology to help build communities of problem-solvers and to help find and develop the world-changing innovations created by these communities.
This position requires the following relevant experience:
- Drupal site administration
- HTML coding (e.g. Dreamweaver)
- Graphics editing (e.g. Photoshop)
- Linux command-line and mySQL experience a plus
- Fluency in Spanish preferred

Changemakers Finance Manager
The Changemakers Finance Manager is responsible for improving, developing, implementing and maintaining our financial systems, policies and procedures. High standards of accuracy coupled with an enthusiasm for optimizing processes and improving systems are required. Candidates applying should demonstrate excellent analytical thinking skills combined with strong communication and interpersonal skills. We are seeking an individual committed to social change who is very detail oriented and well organized in a fast moving organization. The Finance Manager will report to the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development, monitoring and maintenance of project budgets, competition and product costs and time tracking system
- Manage the distribution of competition prizes
- Create and maintain funder reports and expense reports
- Receive and process invoices for goods and services, and be meticulous at preparing and coding payments
- Maintain tracking system for contractors and vendors
- Track all program expenses
- Conduct research and gather data in response to inquiries from internal and external sources
- Assist in the compilation and development of various reports as requested
- Manage invoices and payments to vendors and employees on a monthly basis, while also managing the relevant accounting system and authorization process
- Prepare grant proposals and budget reports for funders
- Ensure that Changemakers’ financial infrastructure is strong and efficient in order to continue to have high impact on social innovation
Qualifications:
- Have proven Excel skills and strong analytical skills
- Have a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related field is a plus
- Experience with Great Plains and FRx a plus
This position will be based in Ashoka’s Global Office in Arlington, VA (Washington, DC)

Changemakers Project Manager
The role of the Project Manager is to plan and run online competitions that have social impact. Working collaboratively with technology, community engagement and regional teams around the globe, the Project Manager ensures that the competition runs smoothly, satisfies the sponsor needs, meets all deadlines and is completed within budget.
The role includes the following responsibilities :
- Manage the planning, launch and execution of Changemakers collaborative competitions
- Facilitate communication across teams, ensure completion of deliverables and collaborate with staff and partners at various levels
- Build relationships with competition sponsors (current sponsors include Nike, National Geographic, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, ExxonMobil, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation)
- Interact with competition entrants, judges, participants and other members of the Changemakers community
- Quickly learn and demonstrate content knowledge about multiple topics and evaluate social innovations
- Innovate on existing processes and help design, prototype and pilot new products
- Support the Project Management team and overall Changemakers operations—including recruiting, sales and development and website support.

Community Content Producer
The Community Content Producer will engage and reflect the Changemakers.com dynamic community and inspiring mission by producing content in a variety of media (including blog and social media posts, news stories, videos, ecards, newsletters and other marketing and communication pieces). This content will consist of concise messages that hook attention and signal transactions and action opportunities within the community.
You should have a strong interest in the latest innovations and social causes, and how to identify and deliver messages about solving social issues rather than simply describing them. This is a rare opportunity for someone who wants to supercharge a career in social innovation and cause-driven reporting.
We'll take applicants from anywhere, but DC metro area-based individuals are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Fast response: researching and reporting multiple stories and short messages for social media every day, with quick turnarounds.
- Create and position content for a multitude of channels including our website, social media, and syndication to content partners.
- Collect story leads from a large staff working in different parts of the globe and on different aspects of the Changemakers operation, and help coordinate the production and distribution of content.
- Work with diverse partners in the business, citizen and government sectors to develop communications that responds to their objectives and branding requirements.
Qualifications:
- Strong reporting and writing abilities. An ability to effectively communicate topics that can be complicated to a global audience. An ability to create diverse and powerful content, from original and aggregation blog posts, to interviews with social entrepreneurs, to press/media kits, to reportage. Preference will be given to previously-published candidates who come with a network of industry sources.
- Experience in online publishing with an ability to use social media effectively, and write copy and headlines for search engines. Ability to bring a personal touch to our site's myriad social networking platforms.
- An entrepreneurial approach with actionable ideas for growing the Changemakers audience and social network, and its ability to serve as a launching pad for social innovators.
- A strong interest in understanding and implementing the latest and best tips, applications, and technology news.
- Some photo-editing skills, programming skills, or any other specialty that falls under the new media umbrella.
