What is your signature innovation, your new idea, in one sentence?

Utilizing Rainwater in a private run operation.

Describe your innovation. What makes your idea unique and different than others doing work in the field?

Through the private placement of custom made water retreival systems, on private housing. This water can then be used for gardening irrigation, possible reuse in bathing and with proper cleaning, drinking water. Its unique, in that it makes the homeowner actually part of the process , meaning that the proper utilization of the system, makes them quite ecologically aware. The savings in maintaining an alternative to using city run water, is immediately recognzed in lower

Delivery Model: How do you implement your innovation and apply it to the challenge/problem you are addressing?

Still working on the final model, this is part of my setback. Econimic factors delay my design efforts.

How do you plan to expand your innovation?

It can start with one city block, and expand, through local block associations, parent teacher groups, labor union initiatives, basically any group who feels a need to be more kind to the environment, and find ways to save money. Its an initiative that also requires a responsibility by the owners as well

Do you have any existing partnerships, and if so, how do you create them?

No at this point my idea is my own, hard to solicit this type of outreach in my immediate living area ( urban, Newark New Jersey area

everyone that I have consulted wiht about my idea think that it is truyly worth pursuing, So I am pursuing funding at this point tomakeithappen

What are the main barriers to creating or achieving your impact?

Finacial, I am a working man and these ieas are supplemental to my active position. I am not in the environmental field, but I am environment contious .

How many people have you served or plan to serve?

It is truly limitless, If you own a home, a business, a peiice of land, this could be immediately utilized . My test area will be the one city block where I live

It will ( saving money, and serving the environment) can spread a new idea , a new mindset, where its never been even tried before. ( inner city , urban areas)

Have to be further studies into this as well( a possible further hinderance.

Anyone that uses it, as well as surrounding hoem land owners, Proper soil irrigation, from the water alone, could lessen erosion, less loss of topsoil. purer vegetation to eat . all true benefactors

Sittign on the front porch during the active rainstorm . hearign the water just run off the side of my house. Thinking that that water could be reutilized.

I was raised in Urban areas all my life. Neveer really considered myself truly responsible for the environment. News stories of eroding resources, have made me newly contious about our own personal responsiblities.
I now own a home and saving money to properly run that home has truly become an active daily endeavor. So it is not just an idea its a mindset.
I will directly utilize my idea for myself and my family.
