What is the goal of your innovation?
EL CASCO is a Training and Consulting Centre with orientation in Sustainable Tourism, respected for its history and its national and international teachers.
How does your approach support or embody geotourism?
Founded with the purpose of carrying actions and programs of Sustainable Development in tourism, continuing the recommendations in the Agenda 21 of the Conference of Rio, the Summit of Johannesburg, The World Letter of Sustainable Tourism, as well as the guidelines emanated from the diverse statements and international covenants related to the defense of diversity of the cultural and natural world patrimony .
Describe your approach in detail. How is it innovative?
Our main trade mark is self management. You work in your project applying our academic contents. You always will have a tutor to answer your questions. The pedagogic design of each module represent 35/40 hours that the person can start whenever he chooses.

By beginning with online training, we provide a new pedagogic relationship between the teacher and the students differed in the space.

We assume this commitment convinced of the imperious need to think new answers for new realities, carrying out a critical analysis of the modernity and the changes that it implicitly carries and above all knowing that you, insert in its environment and in the private problems of its existence and we through the Network, we are able together to build a new model of relations that conserve the principles of our educational thought, but using Other strategies to manage it we think that every educational act, when is intentional, supposes a dynamic relation among three dimensions: the educational one, the student and the knowledge, defining this last one as the quantity of susceptible information to be analyzed, transformed and re-created not only by whom receives it, but also by whom emits it.

In what ways are local residents actively involved in your innovation, including participation and community input? How has the community responded to or benefited from your approach?
The geographical situation of the tourist centers: conditioned the accessibility to continuous training of the people who work in the tourist centers, their geographical situation since by their nature they are found far away from the cities where the great majority of the educational centers are located, that puts people in the situation of having to choose whether to get work or education. Which works against the professional development of the tourism industry.

If our initiative is financed through the successful courses. At present the technology puts at the disposal of the world the possibility to be interrelated directly independently of their geographical situation and enabling people to agree of almost indefinite way to the different channels of available information, permitting to create equality of opportunities. Then, allowing this technology to arrive at the different destinies or tourist regions, that in fact already almost they exist in great quantity, the challenge of their utilization avoiding in this way the large displacements, the uprooting, the interruption of their work and of economic living.

The objectives of Sustainable Development, contribute to counteract inconveniences caused by some factors of the industrialized societies . It is an alternative to the global crisis. Sustainable development is an ideology, a way to think and a different paradigm. Is an attitude of life. The reform of the State has become the central theme of the world political agenda. The origin of this process took place when the model of State mounted by the developed countries in the post war propelled unprecedented prosperity in the capitalism , entered crisis toward end of the decade of 1970.
