The Delawana is located in a biosphere reserve and in a unique intersection between the St. Lawrence Lowlands and the Canadian Shield. The surrounding environment shapes the way "the Del" evolves and sustaining and/or enhancing the natural beauty of the area is first priority.

Gary is nominating this project because:

The Delawana creates new special environment oriented programs every year through a special relationship with the Wye Marsh Wildlife Center. Through dedication to natural surroundings & environment, "the Del" tries to "edu-tain" (cross between entertaining and educating) every guest - no matter what age!
