I have been a member of Coop Power for about 5 years now. I have worked on membership drives, manned tables that promote the organization and its goals, and am currently serving as the chair of our Products and Services Committee.

Our leadership is dynamic and in five years we have grown from a Franklin county group into a regional group with Local organizing councils in Franklin, Hampshire, Hamden and Metro West counties in MA as well as in Southern Vermont.

We have worked for several years to bring a biodeisel plant to our community and are very close to fruition. We have a group of volunteers who do Solar Hot Water installations for members and neighbors, we have started an energy auditing and weatherization group and are looking to expand our offering to our members and the greater communities we belong to.

We are actively involved in educating the public about energy alternatives and ways to be greener and in offering training programs for green energy skill building and job creation

This is an inspired idea. I hope very much to join a community group in Middlesex County to obtain a more affordable solar water system for our home, and to start encouraging the uptake of clean energy solutions.

I have been interacting with Co-Op Power for the last two tears and I'm impressed by their dedicated efforts to improve sustainability, address energy needs, and find solutions to problems of global warming. They form an important role in organizing community efforts and in conducting Sustainability Summits to which I have participated. They perform an extremely important function in helping communities address future problems

My family members and I are long-time members of Coop Power, because we want to make sure ownership of energy services (conservation, efficiency, renewable energy) remain locally owned and locally accountable.

I am so grateful to be a member of Coop Power. As a parent of a 15 and 18 year old, it is invigorating to be a part of something that is looking toward a sustainable future for them. I am a part of a community that takes action and this helps me to be proactive in all areas of my life. Thank you Coop Power.

This organization has the energy and knowledge to get folks to take action! I was able to help construct solar hot water systems in many homes, and help in the installation of my own system. I had wanted to do this for many years, but Coop Power gave me the tools, confidence, and motivation to get it done!

As group of Renewable Energy Enthusiasts in Southern Vermont, we looked long and hard at many different ideas and organizations to help us promote Community Owned Sustainable Energy. We decided Co-op Power is the best vehicle to get us to where we need to be in our energy future.

Barbara and Jerry Marcel sent this to me to post on their behalf, they're having trouble logging in to the site. - Erik

"Co-operatively owned green power generators....What a wonderful feeling to know that we in our local community have already established a Sustainable Energy Co-op ! Our hope is that more and more communities will join the march toward independence from foreign oil (and freedom from the perceived need to wage war in order to procure foreign oil!) Deep gratitude toward all the members of our local community who have helped to bring this about!

Thank you, Barbara & Jerry. We need more to adopt this attitude. In addition to Co-Op Power, I am involved with the Transition Towns effort and with MoveOn which have similar goals. The Sustainability Festival and Farmer's Market in Amherst last Saturday are to be applauded. I look forward to Co-Op Power's Sustainability Summit in Holyoke in June.

Co-op Power is a wonderfully innovative project--it represents the kind of thinking we need as we approach the daunting challenges facing communities now and in the future: big thinking on a community/human scale.

Cooppower is a truly unique and game-changing organization. It has brought many great services to it's members and the community at large, and it keeps getting better!
