I see that loans are granted in US dollars. The currency risks are sunstantial, especially for the borrower. Are you aware that there is a possibility to minimise this risk and the cost?
I am referring tot the TCX bank. A friend of mine is the managing director. Let me know if u like an introduction. It is in Holland so it will not take a lot of time to speak with him

Thanks for your question and suggestion.
Actually, we don’t lend in US dollars, but in local currency. Otherwise it wouldn’t work for our potential borrowers. However, this means that as a Fund we face a significant currency risk. We have been in touch regularly with the TCX MD here in Amsterdam about this already.

This is an important innovation, as private clinics are an almost entirely unfinanced sector today. The social impact here could be enormous. If it could be demonstrated that it is sustainable, this opens an area where financing is totally unavailable.
The complementary service to track performance in order to make sure that the risk can be managed is also an innovative feature. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see more evidence that this project will be financially sustainable. If they can pull it off, it is a creative and intriguing idea.
